The efficient way to learn a new language!

Remember the good ol’ days when you were still in school, when life was simple, but you didn’t realize how good you had it? You went from questioning “why do I have to study this?” to full-blown rebellion, stating “this is completely pointless and irrelevant”. Well, you weren’t alone. The Bulgarian psychotherapist Georgi Lozanov was of the same opinion, claiming that methods used for teaching in schools are actually bad for children. So in the 1970s he came up with a more efficient way of learning, which he claimed would speed up the process of memorization by up to twenty-five times! Pretty cool, eh? His theory applies positive suggestion in teaching and emphasizes the importance of being in a relaxed, but focused state in order to make the most of the learning experience. Music plays a central role in his theory, so does a relaxed environment and a relationship between the teacher and student as close as possible to that between a parent and child. His method earned him the title of “father of accelerated learning”. He called it Suggestopedia. Cue everyone signing up for SL classes at uni…
